Leah's Half-Marathon

On Sunday 11th October 2009, Leah Darbyshire completed the Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon to raise money for the Child Bereavement Charity.

Leah ran all of the 13.1 mile/21 kilometre course in 2hrs 10 minutes, despite suffering from day 2 of a gastroenteritis attack.

It was just a shame she couldn't sample any of the post-race fare on offer at the food stalls afterwards, being limited to a boring diet of dry bread and water!

The course took her through three of London's most beautiful parks, Hyde Park, Green Park and St.James, as well as through Westminster and along the Thames.

Robin, her husband, Charlotte, her daughter and Yishi, her dog were all at Hyde Park to support her, waving their "Go Mummy Go" banner (pictured!)

Leah's sponsorship page will remain open for another three months, if you would like to donate, please visit:
(or see the widget on the right hand side of this blog)

Now the family are looking forward to a week's cycling and walking holiday in Derbyshire with an "e" (the Peak District) to recuperate!
